The anime Air is based on the second visual vovel by the companyKey. And while I did enjoy watching this anime, it still doesn't come near Clannad and Clannad After Story, which are also based on visual novels by Key.

While my favourite anime of those two are the Clannad series by far, Air is still worth a watch.
As with Clannad, the theme changes over time and it is hard to put a specific theme on the anime (besides bishojo), but that just makes it better in my opinion.
