Readthis article at Japan Probe earlier and that got me hooked at which surnames are the most popular in Japan. This is what I found out:

Suzuki 403.506
Takahashi 335.288
Tanaka 314.770
Watanabe 263.817
Itō 255,876
These numbers made me wonder since only 456k out of roughly 130 mio. people have the most popular surname in Japan.
Heres a list of the three most popular in Denmark:
Name Amount of people
Jensen 303.089
Nielsen 296.850
Hansen 248.968
So, 303k out of around 5.5 mio. people share the most popular surname in Denmark. That's a pretty large percentage compared to Japan!
